A Star-Studded Cast Heads to the Highlands

The wait is over — the ultimate game of deception, betrayal, and cloak-and-dagger strategy is about to get the celebrity treatment. Celebrity Traitors makes its highly anticipated debut on Wednesday on BBC One and iPlayer at 9pm, with a glittering line-up that might just be the most star-studded reality cast the BBC has ever assembled.

The Ultimate Game of Deception

The Traitors is swapping everyday contestants for household names — and what a list it is. Presenter Claudia Winkleman will once again lead proceedings, welcoming 19 famous faces to Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands for the 70-minute premiere. Among those braving the round table are comedy legends Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross, and Joe Wilkinson, alongside Stephen Fry, Charlotte Church, Kate Garraway, Paloma Faith, and Tom Daley.

The celebrities will be split into Faithfuls and Traitors, competing in missions to build a potential jackpot of £100,000. But unlike the civilian version, the money raised will go to charity — though each celeb will receive an appearance fee for their troubles.

A New Challenge for Familiar Faces

Speaking ahead of the launch, host Claudia Winkleman teased that the celebrity edition will challenge how we see these familiar faces. ‘You think you know these people, and then you watch them play this game, and I was awestruck by the way they played it — with empathy, with wit, and with real smarts,’ she said.

With nine hour-long episodes ahead, expect drama, double-crossing, and (hopefully) some seriously over-the-top round table showdowns. BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills even went as far as to say: ‘I don’t think there’s ever been a reality show on television with a line-up like this.’

Meet the Line-Up

Celebrity Traitors premieres on Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer. Nine hour-long episodes will air weekly. Grab your cloak, pour yourself a cuppa, and prepare to suspect everyone, even TV treasures like Fry and Garraway.

Ruth Codd’s Role in the Show

And of course, we’ll be cheering on our own Ruth Codd every step of the way! She is set to star in the upcoming series, bringing her unique flair to the high-stakes world of Celebrity Traitors.

Who is Ruth Codd?

Ruth Codd, the Irish actress, is known for her roles in various television and film projects. Her inclusion in Celebrity Traitors adds another layer of excitement to the already impressive lineup of stars. Fans are eager to see how she navigates the challenges of the game, which promises to be as unpredictable as it is entertaining.
