Emma Raducanu Sparks Rumours of New Relationship
Emma Raducanu has recently stirred up speculation about her personal life after sharing photos of a relaxed moment with a male companion on her social media platforms. The individual in the pictures has been identified as Jack Coman, who was spotted alongside the British tennis star as she left her flat in south-west London last weekend.
In a post shared with her 2.9 million Instagram followers, captioned “Last of the weekend,” Raducanu was seen posing with Coman and other friends as they visited Twickenham to watch England face off against New Zealand in a rugby international. According to reports, Coman is from New Zealand and is believed to be working in finance. He was seen sitting behind Raducanu during the match, which England won 33-19.
Raducanu was also seen sitting next to Bridgerton star Simone Ashley, and she posed alongside England’s Henry Pollock after the game. She even met England captain Maro Itoje in the stands. However, it is Coman who has captured the attention of fans, who are eager to determine if their connection is just a friendship or something more.
Coman appeared in two posts, seemingly taken close together in time. Another friend was present in the images, but Coman seemed to smile awkwardly as Raducanu posed and started laughing. One fan commented, “[heart emoji] lovers,” to which Raducanu responded with three heart emojis of her own.
This isn’t the first time fans have speculated about Raducanu’s relationship status. At the start of September, the then-22-year-old shared a series of photos on social media with the caption: “A productive summer. Progress over perfection.” The carousel received nearly 150,000 likes within hours of being posted, but many fans couldn’t help but speculate about a potential romance after seeing her cozying up to a long-time friend.
In the photos, Raducanu can be seen having dinner with her friend and fellow tennis prodigy Benjamin Heynold. The 24-year-old sporting star and student was seen cheering Raducanu on at Wimbledon as she defeated Marketa Vondrousova at the All-England Lawn Tennis Club in July. There were talks of possible romance after Benjamin was seen regularly in her team’s corner at Queen’s in west London last month.
Heynold maintains a low profile on social media but is understood to work at the Raine Group bank in the US. The 24-year-old is also an avid tennis player, and the pair represented Team GB together in their youth.
Raducanu has also been linked to former World No 1 Carlos Alcaraz after they competed together in the mixed doubles at Flushing Meadows last month. Alcaraz made a new look in New York, sporting a shaved head that resembled a young David Beckham. When asked about her friend’s haircut, Raducanu admitted she approved of the Spaniard’s new style.
“I think he owns it, I think he pulls it off,” she said. “I think he’s just taken it and if you own a haircut like that it can work and I think mixed field but whatever he does it’s not going to affect what he does on the court. I’m just happy to see him having fun with whatever.”
Raducanu dismissed suggestions of a romance with Alcaraz in the lead-up to Wimbledon, insisting the pair are just good friends. Adding to the rumour mill, Australian maverick Nick Kyrgios jokingly suggested that the two-time defending men’s champion could be in competition with fellow British star Jack Draper for Ms Raducanu’s attention.
“I don’t know, I think it’s a love triangle,” Kyrgios joked on TalkSport. “Draper, Alcaraz, Raducanu. They’re fighting over Raducanu I think.”
