They continued: “The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!”

Kiss, formed in 1973, is widely regarded as one of the most influential rock bands in history. Their impact on the music industry and rock culture is undeniable. The band is known for their exceptional musicianship and electrifying live performances, which have captivated audiences across generations.

As of 2025, Kiss has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and released a total of 30 certified Gold records, making them the most successful American band in terms of Gold records. Their influence can be seen in numerous other bands, including Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot, Foo Fighters, and Weezer.

Tributes from fellow musicians and fans have already begun pouring in. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, Frehley’s bandmates, released a joint statement expressing their grief: “We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history. He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy.”

Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides also paid tribute to Frehley, calling him a founding member of “the most important American rock and roll band of all time.” Biersack added: “While I did not know him personally, he and the band have been a part of my life since my earliest memories. The impact KISS has had on me is immeasurable. None of what I do exists without them and generations of guitar players would have never picked up the instrument if it were not for his signature style and swagger. Ace is one of a kind and a rock icon in every conceivable sense of the term. RIP to the space Ace.”

US rock radio host and music historian Eddie Trunk also shared his condolences, stating: “It has now been officially confirmed and released by the family that my friend of 40 years @ace_frehley has passed away. This is beyond words for me on many levels. My condolences to Jeanette, Monique and all the fellow fans.”

Frehley is survived by his wife, Jeanette, and his daughter, Monique.
