RJ Mitte, best known for his role as Walter “Flynn” White Jr. in the acclaimed series Breaking Bad, has recently made headlines with a major life milestone. The 33-year-old actor, who has cerebral palsy, is now engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Kennedy Suarez. The proposal took place on Friday, which also marked Kennedy’s 30th birthday.
“I’m thrilled to have found my person, my partner in life who makes me want to be better, no matter what we’re doing,” Mitte shared. He added, “Kennedy is my everything and I can’t wait to officially start our life together and see what adventures life takes us on next.”
The engagement happened at the 56th annual Dia del Sol 2025 benefit in Carlsbad, California. This event supports United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of San Diego, an organization for which Mitte serves as an ambassador. His involvement with UCP has been a significant part of his life, and he continues to use his platform to raise awareness and funds for people with disabilities.
Suarez took to Instagram to express her joy, writing, “My 30th felt like a fairytale… I have the man of my dreams by my side & we are doing what we love most — helping others.”

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of disorders that affect movement, posture, and balance due to abnormal brain development or damage. Symptoms can range from muscle stiffness and poor motor control to difficulties with balance and coordination. Mitte’s personal experience with CP has shaped his career and advocacy work.
As an ambassador for UCP, Mitte hosts various fundraisers and uses his influence to support the cause. His fiancée, Kennedy Suarez, has also become deeply involved in the organization. The couple recently attended the Disability Rights Legal Center’s 50th Anniversary FDR Gala in Los Angeles, further demonstrating their commitment to advocacy.
They currently reside in Brownsville, Texas, where they continue to support each other and their respective causes. Mitte is also the president of The Mitte Foundation, a charity based in Austin, Texas. The foundation focuses on rejuvenating and funding marginalized communities in South Texas.
Suarez, who works as an HR Generalist, has a remote position that allows her to travel with Mitte to his appearances and film projects. Her flexibility enables them to share experiences and support each other’s careers.
