Economic Opportunities and Investment Incentives

Maryam Nawaz emphasized Punjab’s vast potential for foreign investment and expressed satisfaction with the Saudi delegation’s scheduled meetings with representatives from various sectors, including banking, livestock, meat export, and chemical industries. She announced the establishment of a special Saudi Industrial Estate in Punjab, which will offer a 10-year income tax exemption and one-time customs duty exemption for Saudi investors. Additionally, a fast-track facilitation cell will be set up in the CM Office to streamline the process for these investors.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the historic defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, calling it a testament to their shared commitment to protecting the Two Holy Mosques. She described safeguarding the Holy Mosques as a sacred duty and eternal honor. She praised the visionary leadership of King Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whose guidance has enhanced the global stature of the Muslim Ummah.

Humanitarian Support and Future Collaboration

Maryam Nawaz appreciated Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian support for Punjab during recent floods, describing it as a symbol of true brotherhood. She proposed advancing the Pak-Saudi partnership through 30-, 60-, and 90-day action plans based on clear objectives and measurable outcomes.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share one faith, one history, and one future, vowing to move forward with sincerity and determination. “I spent eight years in Saudi Arabia—it is our second home,” she said, adding that the arrival of the Saudi delegation is a source of great pride for Punjab. “Our relationship is not based on temporary interests, but on faith, belief, and the bond of hearts. The Saudi people live in the hearts of the people of Punjab.”

Vision for Development and Progress

Maryam Nawaz Sharif mentioned that Punjab aims to align progress with morality, technology with culture, and knowledge with character. She cited the Central Business District project in Lahore as a major step in this direction.

Prince Mansoor bin Muhammad bin Saad Al Saud, in his remarks, stated that the delegation had come not only to invest but also to support their Pakistani brothers. He thanked the Chief Minister for her warm hospitality and gracious welcome, describing her leadership as inspiring. He expressed optimism that Pakistan-Saudi cooperation would strengthen further, particularly in mining and infrastructure development.

Cultural Exchange and Recognition of Sacrifice

Later, CM Maryam Nawaz hosted a dinner featuring traditional Pakistani cuisine in honour of the delegation. She expressed gratitude to the Saudi Ambassador for his support and humanitarian assistance, including the provision of household goods for flood-affected families.

Separately, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned a terrorist attack on the Police Training Centre in Dera Ismail Khan. She expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and paid glowing tribute to the police personnel who embraced martyrdom while bravely confronting the terrorists. Maryam Nawaz said that the nation salutes the courage and sacrifice of the martyred officers, adding that their blood will not go in vain.
