Jennifer Lopez Addresses Rumors About Astrological Sign in Auditions
Jennifer Lopez has finally responded to a wild rumor that she once removed dancers from an audition based on their astrological sign. While she didn’t outright deny the claim, her comments suggest there might be some truth behind it.
In 2022, Heather Morris, known for her role in Glee, claimed that Lopez had eliminated dancers from an audition specifically because they were Virgos. Morris, 38, initially described the story as “hearsay,” but Lopez, 56, recently acknowledged the possibility of some truth during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live.
Lopez insisted that her remarks were meant as a joke, but she admitted that the dancers may not have understood her intentions. “I’ve thought about this! I do like to joke around!” she said. “I maybe just had an issue with a Virgo and so I was like, ‘If anybody’s a Virgo here, get out!’ But I didn’t mean it! But they can walk away and say that.”
She added, “I’m sure they knew that I was joking. Or maybe they felt like I wasn’t? Who knows? But I was absolutely joking.”
Three years ago, Morris alleged that Lopez had made dancers go through a full day of try-outs before asking if anyone was a Virgo. Those who identified themselves as Virgos were then dropped from the audition.
“Jennifer Lopez held an audition for dancers for one of her tours,” Morris said on the Just Sayin’ with Justin Martindale podcast. “Most of the time, a dance audition, you’re not getting paid, you’ve been there since 10AM, and you’re auditioning until 6PM.”
“She walks in the room, and she said, ‘Thank you so much, you guys have worked so hard. By a show of hands, if there are any Virgos in the room, can you just raise your hand?’” she added. “So, a bunch of Virgos raised their hand… she whispered to her assistant, she looked at them and she said, ‘Thank you so much for coming.’ And they had to leave after a full day of auditioning for Jennifer Lopez!”
“And this is true?” Justin asked. “This is hearsay,” Heather clarified.
According to Cosmopolitan, Virgos are known for having high standards, being modest, working hard, and being helpful. Interestingly, J-Lo’s ex-husband, Marc Anthony, is also a Virgo.
The Virgo tidbit isn’t the only question Lopez addressed during her chat with Andy Cohen. She was also asked whether she would appear during Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl half-time show.
The Puerto Rican rapper appeared in Lopez’s half-time show in 2020, and the Maid In Manhattan star publicly supported him when news of his performance was announced. However, Lopez revealed on WWHL that there has been “no talk” of her joining his performance.
“’There’s no talk!’ she said. ‘I have not gotten any calls! So I just want to put the expectation down. But of course if he wanted me to do something, I would definitely do it.’”
