University of Lagos Honours Real Estate Mogul Babatunde Adeyemo for Contributions to Nation-Building
Lagos, Nigeria – Twenty-three years after graduating, Babatunde Adeyemo, the Chief Executive Officer of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, has been celebrated at his alma mater, the University of Lagos (UNILAG). The accolade was presented at an event themed ‘2025 Dinner and Award Night,’ which saw the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, serving as the Chief Host. Adeyemo, a former broadcast journalist who transitioned into the real estate sector, was lauded for his impactful work in shaping Nigeria’s built environment and his commitment to social causes.
Upon his arrival at the Akoka campus, Adeyemo was accompanied by his wife, children, and members of his professional team. Before the official proceedings commenced, he took his family on a nostalgic walk through areas of the campus that held particular significance during his undergraduate years.
A Visionary in Real Estate and Social Impact
Adeyemo is the visionary behind Pelican Valley Estate Laderin, a development renowned for its distinctive and innovative housing solutions. His pioneering spirit has been instrumental in introducing forward-thinking concepts to Nigeria’s urban landscape.

Adeyemo’s academic journey began in 1998 when he enrolled at the University of Lagos to pursue Labour and Industrial Relations within the Faculty of Management Sciences. He graduated with distinction in 2002. Following a commendable career in journalism, Adeyemo embarked on a new path in real estate. Over the past 15 years, he has consistently applied principles of integrity, due diligence, and a commitment to quality delivery.
