The President departed from Poland on Saturday, marking Canada as his initial destination for a meeting with Prime Minister Mark Carney. The focal point of President Zelenskyy’s international outreach will be a pivotal meeting with his United States counterpart, Donald Trump. This high-stakes discussion is slated to take place on Sunday in Florida, at the esteemed Mar-a-Lago, President Trump’s private estate. President Zelenskyy has indicated that the upcoming negotiations will delve deeply into critical security guarantees for Ukraine and address the complex territorial issues stemming from the invasion. He revealed that a detailed 20-point plan is currently under active consideration and is reportedly “about 90% ready.” This suggests a well-defined framework for potential peace proposals.
Beyond security and territorial integrity, the Ukrainian President also intends to explore avenues for exerting additional pressure on Russia. The Ukrainian Air Force reported a substantial number of airborne threats, including 559 incoming drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles. The force asserted its success in destroying or suppressing a significant portion of these, claiming to have neutralised 503 of the incoming projectiles.
