University chapters of Turning Point USA are reportedly experiencing a disturbing surge in harassment and intimidation following the assassination of the organization’s founder, Charlie Kirk. The tragic event, which sent shockwaves across the nation, has seemingly emboldened individuals to target members and activities of the conservative political group.
Escalating Threats and Intimidation Tactics
Amy Rose Lombardo, a prominent leader for Turning Point USA at Northern Arizona University, has detailed the escalating hostile environment faced by the organization. She described an increase in “dramatic protesting strategies” that have moved beyond peaceful dissent into alarming acts of aggression.
One particularly chilling incident involved a woman approaching a Turning Point USA table and leaving behind a graphic note. This note contained a disturbing illustration depicting Charlie Kirk’s murder, complete with blood dripping from the neck of a figure holding a microphone. Accompanying this visual was the hateful slogan, “only good Nazi is a dead Nazi.”
In another unsettling encounter, an individual deliberately destroyed items displayed at a Turning Point USA event. Lombardo recounted the incident, stating, “She smiles at us and swipes the table and leaves,” highlighting the brazen and confrontational nature of these actions.
Unwavering Commitment to Beliefs
Despite the heightened intimidation, Lombardo expressed a firm resolve not to be deterred from her political convictions. She articulated the core values of Turning Point USA, stating, “Turning Point means truth and fighting for what you believe in.”
She emphasized the critical importance of perseverance, warning, “If we lose all hope, and we just give up on everything, then there’s no way that we’d be able to have a future in America.”

Turning Point USA boasts a significant presence with nearly 800 chapters across American universities. The organization reported a substantial influx of new members and sign-ups in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s death, indicating a strengthened commitment from its supporters.
A Call for Empathy and Understanding
In response to the aggressive behavior, Lombardo revealed that she offers prayers for those involved in these incidents. She stressed the necessity of fostering an environment where political disagreements can be expressed without resorting to “hatred.”
“I hope they find their way out of the hatred that they let run their lives,” she stated, expressing a desire for reconciliation. She elaborated on her perspective, suggesting that even those who engage in hostile actions are often “extremely misguided” and have been subjected to misinformation.
These sentiments resonate deeply with the words of Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, who spoke poignantly at a memorial service.

Erika Kirk shared a powerful message of forgiveness, stating, “My husband, Charlie, he wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life.” She further articulated her commitment to Christian principles, adding, “I forgive him because it is what Christ did. The answer to hate is not hate.”
The impact of Charlie Kirk’s life and work was further recognized by former President Donald Trump, who eulogized him as a “martyr for American freedom” and “our greatest evangelist for American liberty.” In a posthumous honor, Mr. Trump awarded Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
